It is with great pleasure and humility that I welcome all our students, parents, staff, and wider community to celebrate the opening of Manaret Heliopolis International School in 2016. Together we have realised a dream; one that stands to benefit the young minds and souls that we are so privileged to help nurture and guide into the modern, ever- changing world.
It is my sincere belief that in choosing to be one of just a handful of PYP schools in the country, we have every chance of helping to change the face of education in Egypt.
Our dedication to life-long learning under the framework of IB – alongside our commitment to honour the traditions, culture, and language of our nation – is the foundational root which will allow our students to one day stand tall amidst the workforce of the future. They will be equipped with the skills, attitudes, and inquiring minds which will be needed to embrace the multi-cultural, inter-connected and technical world that beckons them. It is my personal goal to work to ensure that I lead a school community that embraces this new world by cultivating an environment which fosters tolerance, acceptance, truth, honesty and a love of learning; with an aim to make this country – and indeed the wider world – a better, safer, and more welcoming place.
I welcome you to join us in celebrating the beginning of a wonderful journey, and I look forward to meeting you along the way.
MHIS School Principal
Manaret Heliopolis International School (MHIS) opened its doors in September 2016 under the exemplary guidance of Dr. Emam Moustafa, in what is termed the ‘Golden Year’, offering families a world class IB education at affordable rates. Situated in Cairo’s Nasr City, MHIS currently caters for PYP 1 (Pre-K) through to PYP 6 (Grade 3) students, increasing the grade level every year.
For the next Academic Year (2017/18) MHIS will cater for PYP 1 (Pre-K) through to PYP 8 (Grade 5) students.
The MHIS staff, parents, and community are committed to empowering students to become successful life-long learners and leaders in an ever-changing world. We will work together to create challenging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences that emphasize intellectual rigor and high academic standards. Whilst honoring, valuing and promoting national traditions, language and culture; personal integrity and democratic values will be fostered in our students to prepare them to become responsible, globally conscious citizens, who engage in action locally and globally to make the world a better place.
Learn About Our Approach
We adopt the IB learning methodology. Founded in 1968, the International Baccalaureate® (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation offering four highly respected programmes of international education that develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills needed to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world. We are currently a candidate school for the PYP Programme, and aim to follow this with the MYP, and DP Programmes as our students grow and develop.
